Jacob Ciulla

Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance, University of Akron

Jacob Ciulla is an aspiring classical trumpet player and educator. He was born and raised in Northeast Ohio.
Having grown up with two band directors as parents and three other professional musicians as siblings, you could say his passion for music didn’t fall far from the tree at all.

As a performer, Jacob has performed with The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra as the principal trumpet for two seasons.
He is currently a student at The University of Akron and plays in The University of Akron Symphony Orchestra.

As a teacher, Jacob has been the trumpet technician at several summer band camps (i.e. Medina Middle School Summer Band, Copley Middle School Summer Band, St. Vincent St. Mary High School Marching

Band, and Medina High School Marching Band). In addition to these camps, Jacob teaches privately on a regular basis. Jacob’s teaching strategy is built on a strong belief of fundamental playing. Once a student has solid fundamental playing abilities, then they can move forward to more advanced literature. Jacob is always trying to keep lessons fun and interesting for his students. He ensures every student is excited about playing the trumpet by the time the lesson is over. Jacob says “improvement is accomplished through motivation and inspiration from ones teacher.”
