About the Hudson School of Music
The Hudson School of Music opened its doors in Hudson in June 2012. Formerly known as Jam Session Music School in Kent, this school is now located in Hudson, Ohio. The school was founded by local musicians looking to offer a personalized and unique option for music instruction in the area. The founders met while students at the University of Akron.
The Hudson School of Music is dedicated to providing its students with access to quality music education in a comfortable and convenient facility. We work with students of all ages and abilities and offer instruction for most instruments. Please visit the "Our Teachers" page for more information.
Our unique programming keeps students in a continuous cycle of achievement. Students may access group programming in Jazz Combo, Rock Band, Theory Classes, and Masterclasses in addition to one on one instruction. All of our courses are taught by professionally-trained musicians.
Students are encouraged to share their hard work and talent through performance opportunities. The school hosts quarterly recitals and rock showcases which allow students to perform in front of a supportive audience.
We believe it important to be a good steward in our community and to show our students that music can have a positive impact on the community. To this end, we support many local charities throughout the year, including our Harvest for Hunger campaign for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
Our facility is located at 85 S. Main Street (Route 91) , Suite F, just South of downtown Hudson. The main entrance for the school is located behind Starbucks, on the ground level. We encourage families to join their student's lesson or stop in and visit one of the many local businesses in our plaza. Our classrooms feature furnished settings and central air. Our helpful staff will assist you with any billing or scheduling needs.
The Hudson School of Music is a proud Steinway Facility.
