Holding a Bachelor's Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music in Cello Performance, Wesley Skinner has been a part of multiple chamber groups. His groups have been coached by members of The Cleveland String Quartet, The Cavani Quartet, The Blair String Quartet, The Juilliard String Quartet as well as by Virginia Weckstrom, Carolyn Warner, Anita Pontremoli, and Keith Fitch. Currently, Wesley studies cello with Dr. Melissa Kraut. Wesley has previously studied withRichard Weiss, Bradley Mansell, and Bob Story; and he has performed in solo master classes for Yo-Yo Ma, Zuill Bailey, Stephen Clapp, and Peter Slowik.
Wesley has completed the registration for the complete Suzuki Cello teaching method under teacher trainer Dr. Melissa Kraut. He is continuing his study at the Cleveland Institute of Music pursuing a Master's Degree in Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. Recent festivals at which Wesley has performed include the Lev Aronson Legacy Festival, Euclid Fest, Tennessee Cello Workshop, and Meadowmount Summer School of Music.
Currently living in Cleveland, OH, Wesley volunteers his teaching skills at local elementary schools in the Cleveland Area as well as performing voluntarily at the Cleveland Clinic, Ronald McDonald Houses and local retirement homes. He appears on iTunes-released album by Mari Therese, All Yours. Wesley has performed across the United States and in South America.
